The annual event at Starkey Wilderness Park is making a two-night return just before Halloween. Each year, a horde of workers transform the park into a “scary haunted village” that features haunted houses, haunted trails and its own graveyard.
Designed to give serious frights, the event isn’t recommended for young children. In fact, kids under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, the Pasco County Parks and Recreation Department advises.
This year’s Scream Acres takes place Oct. 21 and 22 from 7 to 10 p.m. each night. The cost to enter is $1 per person.
UPDATE: There is talk of having an extra weekend for Scream Acres, which would be Oct. 28 and 29!
The Day is Set!!
Countdown to Halloween 2016 has already begun!! What am I talking about, I started that November 1, 2015!! LOL. I am so excited about this year’s theme “Asylum”. Dare you enter into the world of the crazies?!? This isn’t your typical Bellview Hospital… there are roaming mass murderers, psychotic children, maybe even notorious killers like Jason and Mike Myers (after all, they belong in an Asylum)!
This year we are planning on having two cabins at Starkey Park, #3 and #4. If you come in through the general parking we will be the first ones on your left side. We plan on having an outdoor section and an indoor section.
This year we plan on having a few props that haven’t been seen in a few years, plus a couple new ones.
Hope to see you at Scream Acres on October 21 or 22!! 7:00 pm – 10:00 !!!
